20 Destinations connect to TXGB

Wednesday July 22, 2020

At TXGB we firmly believe that destination marketing is central to driving the economic recovery of our tourism sector.

As discussed in our article “One year on” we put the support of destinations at the centre of our COVID-19 recovery plans and today we can announce rapid progress in this area.

In a short space of time we have worked with 20 destinations in England to help them set up new distribution channels for local businesses in their area. These channels all use TXGBs Direct Payment technology, that enables consumers to buy direct through the destination website – such as VisitManchester.com.

The following destinations are setup as channels in TXGB and are already working with local suppliers to help them get setup on TXGB and start listing bookable product within the destination website and social channels:

  • Cotswolds Tourism
  • Destination Plymouth
  • Discover Yorkshire Coast
  • Experience Oxfordshire
  • Newcastle Gateshead Initiative
  • Thisisdurham
  • Visit Bath
  • Visit Bristol
  • Visit Cheshire
  • Visit Doncaster
  • Visit Dorset
  • Visit East of England
  • Visit Gloucestershire
  • Visit Lincoln
  • Visit Manchester
  • Visit Norfolk
  • Visit Shropshire
  • Visit South Downs
  • Welcome to Sheffield
  • Welcome to Yorkshire

The benefits of working with TXGB are clear for both DMOs and local suppliers. Suppliers benefit from a low commission channel that promotes their business in regional and national campaigns – driving bookings. Using TXGB means that suppliers are paid directly at point of sale and receive customer details immediately – so they can start to build stronger customer relations. For DMOs this means they can channel commission earned back in to marketing the region – creating a virtuous loop.

We are pleased that we have been able to quickly support DMOs and suppliers in their regions looking to join the marketplace – but our work is not done, we aim to double the number of DMOs using the platform in the next month – and continue to grow the number of unique distribution channels within the platform.
