Laura has had an exciting career within the tourism industry spanning from travel retail to working onboard cruise ships, through to product management. Laura worked at sea for over four years as a Shore Excursion Manager for Marella Cruises before heading back to land where she worked on the product management of the shore excursions and onboard teams for Cruise and Maritime Voyages.
Laura joins an expert team of Customer Success Managers at TXGB who collectively work with over 70 DMOs . The team are helping to connect tourism suppliers into the central tourism exchange and enable direct bookability on the destination websites, niche distributors including Cool Places and Away with the Kids, and to be part of national campaigns such as Escape the Everyday. As we move towards the 17th May and see the industry finally be able to open their doors once again and welcome back visitors, it is such a vital time to be able to grow connectivity and enable frictionless trade in the domestic tourism market.
Laura said ‘I am really looking forward to this next chapter in my travel career, working to support businesses to diversify their distribution, connect to their local destination websites and drive online bookability as we eagerly await the easing of lockdown restrictions. With my product management experience I know there are so many hidden gems right on our doorstep in the UK waiting to be found, and it will be great to be able to digitally enable these businesses and help new customers discover them.”
James Berzins, MD at TXGB welcomed Laura into the team ‘Having a team of experts in tourism and travel technology has propelled TXGB forward in our mission to unlock the full potential of the UK tourism economy. Laura is a fantastic addition to our growing team. She brings a lifetime of experience in the sector, that will enable her to empathise with our users, ensuring they get maximum value from the platform.’
