Gardenside Lodge

Gardenside Lodge is a charming, dog friendly, self-catering holiday home in Low Etherley, County Durham.
The peaceful property sleeps four and is situated close to the picturesque market town of Bishop Auckland, making it an ideal base for families and couples to explore the beautiful North East.
Gardenside Lodge is set in a one-acre private garden and is owned and run by married couple, Glad and Kenny.
The serene setting welcomes plenty of wildlife and is also includes a garden folly with a fireplace, built by Kenny – who was responsible for creating many of the attractions at nearby Beamish Museum.
Prior to partnering with TXGB, Gardenside Lodge did not take direct online bookings via their website. But after attending a training seminar held by Visit County Durham, Glad was convinced of the advantages that connecting would provide the business.
“Partnering with TXGB has given us greater visibility by connecting us to distribution channels and enabled bookings directly through our website.
“This has reduced the time taken to update availability across channels and makes us more visible to potential visitors.
“The exceptional support provided by Andrew from Visit County Durham and the TXGB team has ensured the entire process has been smooth and has given me the confidence to use a channel manager.“

Easier work, better results
Initially starting with TXLoad, the free inventory loading tool provided by TXGB, Glad and Kenny quickly saw the benefits of being directly bookable online.
Their newfound aptitude for this previously unavailable sales channel gave them the confidence to swiftly move to a specialist booking technology provider, namely Bookalet.
This maintained the important connection to TXGB and offered a far more straightforward way to update their availability in real-time across all of their chosen channels, saving significant amounts of admin time compared to their previous manual booking process.
And thanks to this enhanced connectivity, Gardenside Lodge is available to potential visitors browsing high-traffic channels, including Airbnb and This is Durham.
