This award also acknowledges DMOs and Discover England Fund projects directly involved in demonstrating and encouraging the adoption of Tourism Exchange GB (TXGB) and driving sales through this distribution platform.
We are delighted to announce that Visit County Durham has received the Gold Award, Newcastle Gateshead Initiative the Silver Award, and Destination Bristol has received the Bronze Award.
Each of the winners was recognised as having maximised international reach for their destination by connecting as a distributor to TXGB, driving suppliers within their destination to connect to TXGB and the other distributor channels available, and growing bookings through their owned distributor channel.
James Berzins, TXGB Director says “We’re delighted to have three such worthy winners of this new award. Having all made great developments to their destination’s international distribution, our Gold Award winner - Visit County Durham - was an early adopter in recognising the importance of helping local businesses diversify their distribution, and of the connectivity that TXGB could provide to facilitate this. They worked proactively with local businesses from across the tourism sector to raise awareness and adoption, driving bookings for the region from day one.”
The months ahead bring with them exciting developments for DMOs, as a growing number of them connect to TXGB – following in the footsteps of these VisitEngland Excellence Awards winners.
