The TXGB Team is Growing

Friday March 25, 2022

English Tourism Week runs until 27th March and this year’s theme focuses on skills and career opportunities across the tourism sector.

Another central message: ‘You’re Welcome’ represents the industry’s continuing efforts to welcome visitors back.

TXGB are proud to have a diverse team of people working in the organisation, from a broad range of backgrounds within the hospitality, tourism and tech sectors.

More specifically, we’re delighted to let you meet some of our Customer Success and Onboarding team Julia, Nicola and Romy.

The team are the face of TXGB and work passionately to onboard and help businesses across our wonderful industry.

Romy Troop
The newest member of the team who has recently joined.

  • About me: I’m the newest member of TXGB, now with the team for more than one month, and have nine years’ experience in the events, luxury hotel and tourism sectors.
  • What I love about my job: As someone with a family background in the tourism and hospitality sector, I love helping small SME’s become more bookable by working with them to understand TXGB, it’s benefits and opportunities. I’m passionate about the luxury hotel sector and enjoy the marketing, partnerships and branding aspects of working for TXGB.
  • Favourite place in the UK: My go-to-city is always Manchester. It was my home for five years and the food and drink, events and accommodation scene is just out of this world. Plus, the Peak District is also on its doorstep, so for me it’s a no brainer for a weekend away.

Nicola Jones

  • About me: I’m from Liverpool and studied travel and tourism in college, then graduated with a first class degree in international tourism management and Spanish from the University of Chester. Growing up in a lively, cultural city I have always had a love for tourism, culture and languages. I started with TXGB seven months ago and have already learned so much.
  • What I love about my job: My favourite part is working closely with a huge variety of businesses to help them maximise bookings through our fantastic distribution channels. I love being able to work with so many great businesses, especially since the pandemic when it’s been needed most.
  • Favourite place in the UK: On a sunny weekend, I love taking a walk down to Crosby Marina and beach and watching the sunset over Anthony Gormley’s unique ‘Another Place’ iron men sculptures. Liverpool’s Metropolitan Cathedral is another good option all-year-round. The stunning architecture, a visit to the Luytens crypt or even a climb to the top are a must during a trip to the city!

Julia Wojciechowska

  • About me: I’m originally from Poland and moved to the UK in 2015 to study. I graduated from the University of Sunderland where I studied Tourism with Modern Foreign Languages (Spanish). After that I took a gap year to gain some further experience in the tourism industry during which I worked as a travel consultant. I recently obtained a master’s degree in International Hospitality and Tourism Management from Cardiff Metropolitan University. Shortly after I joined TXGB and I’ve worked in the team for seven months now.
  • What I love about my job: I can work and get to know so many amazing businesses I’ve never heard about before. Another advantage of working for TXGB is my team – the best colleagues I could ever ask for.
  • Favourite place in the UK: It has so much to offer but I have a soft spot for beautiful beaches of North East of England, especially Bamburgh. Spring in England is my favourite and I can’t imagine missing out on visiting local farms and bottle-feeding lambs!

Julia, Nicola and Romy support tourism businesses in linking to the TXGB central marketplace and maximising the multiple opportunities a single connection can bring.
