TXGB announces leadership transition
After six years at the helm, successfully leading TXGB as Managing Director, James Berzins is moving on with Dan Simmons stepping into the role from September.
James has been at the heart of TXGB’s story – instrumental in the launch and growth of the platform. From securing the initial partnership with VisitBritain to helping shape a smarter, more connected visitor economy. His leadership, strategic insight, and tireless energy have made a lasting impact. We thank him wholeheartedly and wish him every success in this next chapter.
Reflecting on his time at TXGB, James said:
“Setting up and scaling TXGB has been an incredible experience, and I’m grateful for the trust put in me by our shareholders, investors and key partners.
Along the way I’ve met some fantastic people, learned a lot, and tackled some interesting challenges — from market transformation and a global pandemic, to the UK Inbound fancy dress competition!
Now it’s time for a new chapter, but I leave TXGB with fond memories, deep gratitude for our fantastic team, and immense pride in what we’ve achieved together.”
One of James’s earliest hires, Dan has spent six years bringing deep insight, boundless energy and a passion for building successful partnerships that deliver mutual real value. His leadership and experience make him ideally placed to guide TXGB’s next phase of growth. Dan added:
“I’m honoured to step into the role of Managing Director at TXGB. It’s been a privilege to work alongside James from the very beginning of this journey, and I’m deeply grateful for his leadership, vision, and support in shaping the company we are today. I’m incredibly proud of what our talented team has accomplished so far, and I’m excited to lead TXGB into its next phase of growth.”
As we look to the future, TXGB remains committed to its mission: unlocking the full potential of the UK tourism sector. With solid momentum, and a team whose drive, dedication, and experience set us apart, we’re confident and excited about what’s to come.
